VISITORS TO DSH FACILITIES WITH ADA SERVICE DOGS

It is hard to imagine, but DSH has never enacted statewide policies to welcome and treat humanely visitors with ADA service dogs. In February 2020, a woman who visited her son at Atascadero State Hospital was traumatized by several police officers and the Director of State Hospitals, according to the story she told in an interview which is posted on the DSHABUSE YouTube channel.
