• DSH statewide does not offer conflict resolution strategies when patients physically fight;

  • In at least one DSH facility, patients can come to blows, blacking each other’s eyes, and as soon as they stop fighting, the staff just walk away. The two patients are simply restricted to the unit for the next 24 hours;

  • DSH has failed to enact strict statewide protocols in such situations to perhaps attempt to bring two combatants together and attempt to maybe make them friends.
